Upstate Photo Journal
An editorial photo journal tracing a year in upstate New York through color, light, and seasonal change. This project reflects on growth, connection, and renewal as part of a larger, ongoing cycle.

THE
Return
LONG
The Shawangunk Ridge rises in pale stone above the Hudson Valley—ancient, weathered, and in constant conversation with the sky.

Green Audacity
Green arrives without humility.
It grows from nothing into everything—
a living, breathing yes.
In Good
Company
They never grow alone.
Each one leaning, listening,
held upright by the others.

Held by the Sun
Orange carries the day’s warmth forward.
A memory of heat caught in bloom.

Brushstrokes
Up close, color becomes gesture.
Each petal a stroke, deliberate and unrepeatable.

The Shape of the Wild
The field doesn’t need permission.
The fence is only a suggestion—
the wild knows where it wants to go.

The Way Across
Every trail eventually asks for faith.
You step out over water,
and call it a way forward.

What Is Given
Ripe with what the season
has been teaching all along.

Well Seasoned
Here, everything concentrates.
Light, color, experience.
A slow simmer.

The Quiet Heat
Cold strips the world clean.
Still something warm persists,
glowing beneath the frost.
